This is by design so (this they won't tell you) you will quit. They start you off with chapters with ten test questions to send in (not too bad) then about midway through the course they change to about 30 or more questions to send in making it very hard to complete the course in the 12-18 months allowed. No way to have a complete matching set for reference now. They "switched" to the crappy booklets in the middle of my course. The "books" are cheap plastic bound copies of the better quality booklets they were using last year. These people are on of the biggest rip-offs you can get in online edu. If you are planning on spending hard earned money for Cleveland Institute of Electronics then think ease. But try getting 5 College Math Courses for $3200 So for me, it's pay me now or pay me later. Plus, this course prepares me to pass the FE again.

My goal is a masters degree in Applied Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics. If your objective is to learn Electronics and all the related math without spending tens of thousands of dollars in tuition this program is for you. The plastic booklets have been criticized as well but I like them better than the old booklets because they open easier and lay flat with less trouble. Time and time again I preview the exams and can do maybe 10% of the problems but the material is so well written by the end of the lesson I understand nearly all of it. I have previewed the Transient Analysis Lessons and they are daunting and written by a major college PhD but I am confident in the way the authors get the material across. Plus the Calculus for Electrical Engineering is emphasized all along the way. My grades are good but what is really pleasing to me is understanding the math I struggled with and helping my kid through two college algebra courses. Everything you forgot in Calc 1, 2 and Differential Equations and a whole lot more is covered in this course. The math review has been worth the cost alone.

I paid full tuition $3200 up front but was reimbursed by my company for $2500. If you need help with the more technical Electronics, you may need Bruce or Dan. You get your scores and a detailed answer key assuming you passed the test. Feedback from them on tests occurs within 24 hours. Don't expect too much help from them on the exam but they do help you working similar problems and explaining concepts. I have been enrolled in the CIE Electronics Engineering Course since 2008 and am still plugging along.
